Hi Everyone!
You might be wondering what the guys from Third Space, Klesis, and Kairos did up at SL or maybe just what that picture is all about, and I’m here to tell you. We started the night off with a short time at the gazebo, making Evergoods, smores, and had a short discussion on what makes a powerful, or inspiring life. Many of us thought along themes of commitment, passion, and effort. James from Kairos shared with us his summary – being fully sold out for something. Drawing examples from Navy Seal Team 6 and WWII, we thought about how it takes more than one person to accomplish something. That is a pretty manly picture, and with that, we spent the rest of the night building those bonds that enable us to live an inspiring life.We spent the night playing basketball at midnight on the cold driveway, eating the best Ramen Jon Chou has ever had (he’s said that phrase multiple times), and hanging out by playing board games or sharing stories. The main event of the night was however, wrestling. Not real wrestling of course, we’re too civilized for that
But thumb, arm, leg, pig, and sumo wrestling! Ray Choi and Ander (Klesis) lead us in a wrestling bracket where teams formed from different weight classes and competed in each of these events. My team unfortunately came in 4th place, but it was fun staying up until 4am, hanging out with the bros. Of course, some of us are no longer used to staying up that late – but it was definitely worth it.The next day we had our different bible studies in the morning, and afterwards headed off to the Boreal Snow Park for an incredible time in the snow, playing Axis vs Allies a game that Sam, Senior in Kairos, thought up. Allies charged up a fortified snow position, only to face heavy Axis fire. Of course, history repeated itself with the Allies winning. We ended our time sledding, with an interesting twist – tubes with two, then three, then four, and then five people on one tube. You’ve gotta see the pictures to believe it.
Join us for the next SL trip, during Spring Break, and look forward for the pictures to come.
